SkyVault — Secure storage above the cloud

SkyVault Private Beta

Trust, data and Beta expectations

This page explains the practical data and service expectations for the SkyVault Private Beta. It is intended to be clear about what SkyVault does today and what it does not promise.

Your files remain yours

You retain ownership of the files and content you store in SkyVault. SkyVault stores and manages that data only to provide the cloud-storage service and related account operations.

How access to stored data works

SkyVault is not a zero-knowledge or end-to-end encrypted storage service. Privileged infrastructure administrators may technically be able to access stored data when required for legitimate operational, security, recovery or support work. Administrative access should be kept to the minimum necessary for those purposes.

Private Beta service expectations

Private Beta is an evaluation service, not a commercial service-level commitment. Features, capacity and availability may change, and maintenance or unexpected downtime may occur while SkyVault is improved.

Keep another copy of important files

Do not use the Private Beta as the only copy of important data. Keep an independent copy of important files under your own control.

Leaving SkyVault and deleting your account

You can download files you want to keep before requesting account deletion. Account deletion removes the live account and its active SkyVault data through the normal cleanup process. Backup copies, where they exist, may follow a separate retention and recovery lifecycle and may not disappear at the same moment. Exact backup-retention periods will be documented when the Beta backup policy is finalised.

If SkyVault is planned to close

If SkyVault plans to discontinue the service, the intention is to provide reasonable notice and an opportunity for users to retrieve their data where circumstances permit. This does not guarantee that advance notice is possible in every emergency or exceptional situation.
